From Waste to New Year Ornaments Contest – PharmaVision and Düzce Çevrem Primary School

As we leave 2022 behind, we are pleased to organize the "From Waste to New Year Ornaments Contest", which we believe will develop environmental awareness among our employees. As PharmaVision, we have been successfully carrying out our "From Waste to the Future" Project, which aims to utilize recyclable wastes (such as paper, plastic bottles, glass bottles, aluminum cans, etc.) In this context, we continue our activities for the development of environmental awareness with New Year decorations made entirely of waste by organizing the "From Waste to New Year Ornaments Contest" both within the company and at Düzce Çevrem Primary School, which was built within the scope of the "From Waste to the Future" Project.

In the competition held in our company; Mr. Fahrettin Kazak, Mr. Necmettin Ayan, Ms. Nese Eriş, Ms. Nüket Hekiman Çörekçioğlu, Mr. Mücahit Güzel, Mr. Okan Bal and Mr. Volkan Sarıkaya, made their evaluations and paid attention to the creation of ornaments that use waste with the idea of maximum recycling. The result of the contest was announced on Friday, December 16th in the area in front of the Oral Cephalosporin Building, and all the ornaments participating in the contest were exhibited in this area before the ceremony.

  2. “Vildan Ilgaz” from the Human Resources and Legal Department
  3. “Ioanna Fenerli” from the Business Development, Product Transfer and Regulatory Affairs Department

Qualified works were presented to the contest with great interest and motivation. The Evaluation Jury, composed of School Principal Mr. Bayram Baskin, Deputy Head of School Mr. Serdar Kaya, Mr. Fahrettin Kazak, Mr. Necmettin Ayan, Ms. Nese Eriş and Ms. Nüket Hekiman Çörekçioğlu, in their evaluation of the ornaments, paid attention to the use of waste with maximum recycling idea and to their matching with the theme.

According to the decision of the Evaluation Jury, the students who ranked in the first three are:

  1. “Alperen Uğurlu” from the second grade of primary school
  2. “Duru Arslan” from the second grade of primary school

The winner of the competition was rewarded with a bicycle, along with a helmet and knee pad, while the second and third place students were rewarded with scooters.

In addition, the robot created entirely from waste by “Emir Gülterler” from the fourth grade of primary school, attracted the special attention of the Evaluation Jury and was given the Special Jury Award, even though it does not have the quality of a New Year's ornament. All students in the school, including kindergarten students, were presented with games, activities and books focusing on environmental awareness.

Our Responsible Care Manager, Ms. Neşe Eriş made a special interactive presentation to all students in order to increase waste utilization and environmental awareness.

We will continue to support the Düzce Çevrem Primary School, which we established and developed and are happy to undertake many projects together, with new and qualified projects.
